Back on the Wagon

Today, I ventured out on a 7 km run after not doing anything for six months. What was I thinking? And so I ran the slowest run of my life today (walking more than half). Tonight as I sat down to eat my dinner, my derriere was screaming...we are doing this again why? Because we can. I have the ability to run so why not...

Next weekend, a friend and I are supposed to run a half marathon. I have not trained, not even a little bit. But, I am going to try to finish it, and I'm going to do this with a smile on my face!

Stuck in a rut

I am stuck in a non-exercise rut. There I said it.

Rewind one year ago. I was doing great, running four to five days per week, eating right, and practicing yoga. Then something happened...what it was, I'm not too sure. Slowly, my motivation dwindled. The desire to move my body evaporated. First, I stopped eating right, relying on sugary treats to nourish my body (I do love baked goods!) Then, I didn't run as far as I used to, or as hard. I stopped my yoga practice. Once scheduled and timed runs, turned into plopping on the couch and watching t.v.

Fast forward to present day. I HAVE HAD ENOUGH! I am starting this blog, today, right now, to give myself a swift kick in the derriere! I am re kick starting my running adventure and I invite you to join me. There is going to be blood, sweat, and tears, of that I am certain. The question is how much and for how long!

I am challenging myself to run the Dopey Challenge in 2016. This is going to be my journey getting there!
